I’m going to be assisting at Shop3D.ca Vancouver’s grand opening! If you’re in the Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada) area, come by and check out the 3D printers and vacuum former at this free event. I’ll be available to answer questions about 3D printing for cosplay and props. See the eventbrite for details.
The Cosplay Tutorial Blog isn’t going anywhere, we’re going to be sticking around on Tumblr for better or for worse. But in case some of you decided to abandon ship, you can catch up with us elsewhere:
The blog has a new layout! I’m slowly working on updating it so it is both pretty and functional.
I’ve also updated the Ask Box. It now offers some tips to better help us answer your questions and includes a link to the Submit box so you can add references.
I’ve also added a note about our wait times. You would be amazed at just how quickly the ask box can get out of control. We do the best we can to answer all your questions but it is impossible to get to them all! In an effort to tame the beast, I will be deleting messages that are over two months old. I figure that after two months, you’ve probably found another solution to your problem. If not, please feel free to re-submit.
The 3D printing week is over. A BIG thank you to the guys at shop3d.ca for taking the time to answer questions and share their tips! The blog will still accept 3D print questions but they won’t be prioritized and they likely won’t be answered by the guys at shop3d.
I’ve been accepted into Arda Wig Canada’s Iron Wig LIVE competition. I’ll be styling a wig at Fan Expo Canada this Friday from 4:00-7:00PM. Styling a wig in front of people is going to be one crazy experience, so please wish me luck!
Going to be doing a cleanup of the askbox, since it is overflowing with more questions then we can ever possibly answer. If you don’t get your question answered by the time the askbox re-opens, it has likely been cleared out because of the age. Sorry about that! Feel free to ask again and we’ll do our best to get to it.
This year, instead of sitting at home freaking out about a livestream (while everyone else I know is asleep), I’ll be heading to Nagoya, Japan to watch the World Cosplay Summit LIVE! I’ll be cheering for my friends from Fellowsheep Cosplay who are representing
While planning for this trip, I had trouble finding information for foreigners looking to attend the summit and the WCS is very slow to update. So I hope that if I survive this experience, I can provide you all with some really cool pictures and information on how you, too can attend the WCS as a visitor. (If you want to compete, I suggest starting by reading the regulations and looking up which convention hosts your country’s preliminary.)
WCS related posts will be tagged as #WCS2017
Then, when I get back from Japan, we’ll be having a special feature on 3D Printing. My friends at Shop3D.ca have agreed to answer your questions and talk about 3D printing props and other cool things. 3D printing has really boomed in the cosplay world and this will be a great opportunity for you to ask questions from people who really know their printers.
